T11 Ski Trip Info
Message from the Ski Trip Coordinators:
Hello All,
Our plans for the 2010 ski trip have been confirmed! As usual, we will be staying at the Hoyfjellet Lodge in Soda Springs (near Sugar Bowl). The lodge is a perennial Scout favorite. The accommodations are barracks-style, "rustic", with a separate sleeping area for moms. This year’s trip will be held on the weekend of January 22-24, 2010. As usual, we will drive up Friday night and ski Saturday and Sunday and drive home Sunday afternoon.
Last year we had more than 45 people signed up for the ski trip! This year the cost is $95 per person for two nights lodging (Friday and Saturday) and includes three meals: 2 breakfasts (Saturday and Sunday) and one dinner (Saturday). Payment is made to "Troop 11" and sent to the Troop Treasurer.
When you are ready to sign up for the ski trip, then contact Paula Bolio, our ski trip coordinator (see below for email) with your name, # of people/nights and send a check to the Treasurer as noted above.
Deadline for RSVP and deposits is NOV 13, 2009.
If you have any questions please contact our SkiTripCoordinator.

Snow Sports Merit
Badge
The requirements for this merit badge ("MB") are explained in
this checklist (follow link). As with all merit badges, a
scout should review the specific requirements and the merit badge
booklet IN ADVANCE. This merit badge involves some written
questions and answers as well as an on-the-mountain demonstration of
basic abilities which the T11Adults will supervise on the ski
trip. The merit badge can be done for skiing or for
snowboarding. MB booklets are available from the Troop Library
and some are available in the Piedmont Scout office. They are
also available from the East Bay
Scout Store in San Leandro and online from ScoutStuff.org ($3.50).
Here is a Snow Sports Merit Badge Worksheet
It is a 10 page worksheet for a scout to use to record notes and progress towards completion of the Snow Sports MB.
Again this year we will purchase
lift tickets at the special group
prices which are at a nice discount. See linked document below
for info on the prices and payment procedure. (same document
is above right)Sugar Bowl Lift Tickets Info
