Dates:  Saturday April 5 --Sunday April 6, 2008.

Be Prepared: to have fun!

Meet:  (Time TBD) Saturday morning, at Piedmont Council Scout Office at Piedmont Community Church, at 10 Highland Way.

Food Shoppers: stick to a budget of $8 per scout in your patrol who is going on the campount (you should have that count or get it from your Patrol Leader).  Plan for two meals: dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday.  Shoppers, bring your shopping receipts to the campout so the Troop can reimburse the patrol shoppers.

Carpools: Carpool driver list (with cell phone numbers) and passenger list will be distributed during this week by email.   Thanks to those of you who have volunteered to drive.

Bring: (a) bag lunch for Saturday, (b) $10 (check to "Troop 11") or cash to pay for individual food, (c) scout essentials: water bottle, sunscreen, hat, scout book, sleeping bag and pad.   Troop will provide tents and cooking gear.  Each patrol will do its own meal shopping and cooking.

Where: we are going to the Hawk Ridge Campground in Anthony Chabot Regional Park.  There is a map of where this is located included on page 5 of the the Mr. Diablo Park Brochure (see PDF link to above right).

Campout Agenda: This will be our first camping trip with the new scouts in the Troop.  The agenda will be scout skills, camping skills and patrol organization.  This is all part of our preparation for the Council Camporee* in May.  We will ask for good showing from Adult Leaders and older scouts to help out.

*Definitions of terms for newbies:

"Camporee":  an annual Piedmont Council campout attended by members of all five Piedmont Boy Scout Troops.  A Camporee involves inter-troop competitions between patrols in a series of fun events relating to scouting. Two nights of camping, May 16-17-18, 2008.
Return: probably around 11-12 on Sunday.  Carpool drivers will drop scouts off at their homes, please be home.  We can call you with more precise time, if that helps you, please let us know.
