can 150 Recycling

Collect those cans (and crush them)!  As per Adrian's announcement at the troop  meetings, T11 scouts and families are encouraged to collect aluminum cans ("deposit") for recycling.  The cans will be brought in to a specific T11 meeting after Camporee, date to be announced, but for now, please collect & crush the cans at home.  Remember to put your name on the bag, so we can tell who collected the most (to award prizes!)  The $ proceeds will go to T11 equipment fund.   Thanks!.

Events Coming Up:

listed in chronological order.  Most or all require sign ups in advance!

Maker Faire - May 3rd & 4th-Sat & Sun

Forrest Yeh and Jim Yeh have let us know about a cool event that they will be attending in San Mateo on Saturday and Sunday May 3 & 4.  It is called Maker Faire and Forrest and Jim will be there competing with their combat robots.  The Faire is a gathering of people who like to build, hack, make and play with materials and common objects.  Their website is at www.makerfaire.com and you can contact Forrest or Jim for more info.  Sounds great!

Oakland A's - Boy Scout Day - May 4th-Sun

The Oakland A's have their Boy Scout Day coming up soon, on Sunday May 4th at 1:05pm at the home game between the A's and the Texas Rangers.  There are discounted ticket prices for Scouts and their families, a pre-game parade around the field for uniformed scouts and leaders and a commemorative patch for uniformed scouts.  All ticket orders must be mailed or faxed by THIS FRIDAY, April 25th.  Because of the close deadline interested fans should send in their ticket orders on their own, directly to the A's, using the flyer below.

Brownsea Training - June 15-21

ninja The San Francisco Bay Area Council is hosting a Brownsea Training for Boy Scouts June 15-21 at the Wente Scout Reservation in Willits.  For those who haven’t heard of the Brownsea program, it is an intensive leadership training similar to Woodbadge for adult Scout leaders.  For more information, feel free to review the flyer (see below) and visit this website:  www.brownsea-nylt.org.  With questions, feel free to e-mail Course Director Rod Dore at rodneydore@yahoo.com or Jerry Tomaszak at jwtomaszak@aol.com.

Staff for Cub Scout Day Camp - June 23-27

hot dog  Finally, we’re still looking for more staff members for the Cub Scout Day Camp on June 23-27!  Like last year, Jason Z (the Epic One) will be the camp’s Program Director and it’s tons of fun with all the activities, sports and water games.  Plus, it’s a great way to get service hours (about 35) toward advancement!  Or, if the Scout prefers, he can instead receive an honorarium for his work ($65-$100).  Complete the attached form and return it to the Scout Office today!
